Questions About Applying

When should I apply/When is the deadline to apply as a transfer student?

You should apply as early as possible the semester before you wish to transfer. With the exception of certain majors, SLU accepts applications on a rolling basis.

Programs with transfer application deadlines:

  • Aeronautics Flight Science (Dec. 1 for fall admission)
  • Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy (March 1 for fall admission and Oct. 1 for spring admission)

Please note: Your application is not considered complete until all required materials are received.

Is an essay and/or résumé required for the transfer application?

No, neither an essay nor résumé are required as part of your application for admission. In some cases, a personal statement may be required of applicants seeking readmission to the University.

What is the minimum GPA that will be considered for my major program?

The minimum GPA for transfer applicants is 2.5-3.2, depending on the major. Applications are reviewed holistically, and students are not admitted on GPA alone.

What should I do if my application is incomplete because I don’t have college transcripts yet?

We still need information from that school, even if you’ve just started. Ask your college for a transcript showing the course schedule. You can also provide an unofficial schedule.

Is there an application fee to apply to SLU?

There is no application fee to apply for undergraduate admission to SLU. Accelerated B.S.N. applicants must pay the associated application fee through NursingCAS.

Are my high school transcripts and/or ACT/SAT scores required for transfer admission?

High school transcripts are only required of applicants who have completed fewer than 24 transferable credit hours.

Saint Louis University has a standardized test-optional admission process for all undergraduate programs. Applicants may submit standardized test scores, but those who choose not to will not be disadvantaged in any way in the admission process.
