Classroom to Campus

As a dual-credit provider, Saint Louis University's 1818 Advanced College Credit Program provides ample immersion opportunities for 1818 students interested in pursuing college. This includes allowing students to experience campus and what it’s like to be a college student in college classes.

Campus Immersion for Local Partners

  • Campus admission tours: Students get the full experience of what it's like to be a SLU student, touring our historic campus and attending events such as our annual Literary Award Craft Talk, MaPP puzzle hunt, rare books tour, and more.
  • Discipline-specific immersion: Students come to campus to participate in discipline-specific activities such as attending lectures, interviewing current undergraduate students, and touring lab spaces.
  •  Library visits: 1818 students come to campus to conduct research at SLU's libraries under the tutelage of SLU's campus librarians and research professionals.
  • Campus events: SLU offers many campus events throughout the year that students are welcome to participate in as part of their classroom experience.

Campus Immersion for Distance Partners

  • Virtual library visits: SLU’s libraries offers various online research opportunities for our distance partners.
  • Student-led webinars: 1818 students can learn and ask questions about campus life, choosing a major, balancing academics and more from SLU undergraduate students.

Instructors interested in offering any of these opportunities may contact our office at 1818@slu.edu. Please reach out at least six months in advance as time slots and availability across campus fill up quickly.
