Waitlists

Some courses at Saint Louis University automatically give you the option to add yourself to a waitlist when a course is closed.

How to Waitlist

When you attempt to register for a course that is closed but offers an optional waitlist, you will be prompted to select "Waitlisted" and then click "Submit Changes." The date and time you added yourself is stored and classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you do not want to be on the waitlist, select "None" and click "Submit Changes."

If you have waitlisted for a course, check your SLU email daily. When or if seats become available, you will be notified via email. You will then have 24 hours to register for the course.

Log into mySLU, navigate to the “Add/Drop Classes” and change the status of the course to "Web Registered." If you fail to register within the allotted time, the seat will be given to the next student on the waitlist.

Once your schedule is finalized, remove yourself from any remaining waitlists via the “Add/Drop Classes” page by changing the status of the course to "Web Dropped." Waitlists are deleted each semester when online registration closes.

Note: When a waitlist exists, the “Seats Remaining” column (REM) on the class search will not be accurate. If a seat opens, priority goes to the waitlisted students. Add yourself to a waitlist to get future available seats.
