Headshot of Omar Almaadawy

Omar Almaadawy, M.D.

Medical school: Zagazig University Faculty of Medicine
Residency: MedStar Health – Georgetown University (Baltimore) Program

I am originally from Egypt, where I earned my medical degree before moving to the United States. I completed my internal medicine residency at MedStar Health, where I developed a strong interest in cardiology. I'm passionate about academic medicine and teaching — I even run a YouTube channel focused on physiology and biochemistry. I also enjoy exploring the intersection of medicine with artificial intelligence and machine learning. Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, discovering new places and trying different restaurants.

Interests: Academic cardiology, research, machine learning
Hobbies: Cooking, traveling, tennis

Headshot of Sushant Koirala

Sushant Koirala, M.D.

Medical school: Saint Louis University School of Medicine
Residency: Rush University Medical Center

Originally from Nepal, I've showly been collecting zip codes across the globe — having lived in Australia, Boston, Albuquerque, Fayetteville, Philadelphia and Chicago before landing (once again) in St. Louis. In my free time, I'm usually outside, often wandering through Forest Park, watching soccer with questionable emotional stability, or getting way too competitive during game nights. I also try to squeeze in travel whenever I can, especially to places that offer good food, great views, or ideally, both.

Interests: Advanced imaging, interventional cardiology
Hobbies: Spending time outdoors, watching sports (especially soccer), game nights

Headshot of Do Park

Do Park, M.D.

Medical school: University of Colorado School of Medicine
Residency: University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center

I'm from Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in Colorado. Medicine has taken my wife and me to Dallas and now, St. Louis. We love checking out new restaurants and trying all kinds of cuisine.

Interests: General cardiology, electrophysiology
Hobbies: Guitar, cycling, trying to be a consistent bogey golfer

Headshot of Arjun Kumar Sharma

Arjun Kumar Sharma, D.O.

Medical school: Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine
Residency: SSM Health/SLU SOM Residency Program

I was born in St. Louis and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which will always be home for me. I was lucky to grow up surrounded by family and friends, and I try to keep things fun no matter what I'm doing. I'm a big South Florida sports fan — go Dolphins! Outside of medicine, I love traveling, catching up with friends and family, working out, golfing, watching movies and trying new food. My journey in medicine has been rewarding and eventually led back to St. Louis for residency. I've wanted to become a cardiologist since my undergraduate studies at Vanderbuilt University. It's a field that really excites me — fast-moving, diverse and centered on helping people when they need it most.

Interests: Academic cardiology, cardiac intensive care, clinical education
Hobbies: Working out, watching movies, golfing, trying new cuisines while traveling

Headshot of Jason Siebert

Jason Siebert, M.D.

Medical school: University of South Carolina
Residency: SSM Health/SLU SOM Residency Program

I am originally from outside Charlotte, North Carolina, and I went to Clemson University for my undergraduate degree (go Tigers!) and the University of South Carolina for medical school. Through the magic of The Match, I was fortunate to match into the internal medicine program at SLU. I truly enjoyed my experience, and I was impressed by the skills and professionalism of the cardiology fellows and attending physicians who regularly work with medically complex patients. I am so grateful to have now matched into the cardiology program at SLU and am excited for the journey ahead!

Interests: Cardiac imaging
Hobbies: Exploring local parks and festivals, taking our dog to Bar K, enjoying local restaurants with my wife

Second-Year Fellows

Headshot of Abdullah Yesilyaprak

Abdullah Yeşilyaprak, M.D.

Medical school: Istanbul University
Residency: Wayne State University School of Medicine

Originally from Turkey, my medical journey began at Istanbul University, a place where my profound interest in cardiology blossomed. This passion then led me across the seas to the United States, where I had the privilege of working as a clinical research fellow at the Cleveland Clinic. Following this enriching experience, I completed my residency at Wayne State University in Michigan, where I had the honor of serving as a chief resident in the final year. Now, my journey has fortunately steered me to SLU Cardiology, an opportunity I embrace with immense gratitude and enthusiasm.

Interests: Clinical education, academic career in advanced cardiac imaging
Hobbies: Hiking, kayaking, discovering new restauarants, cherished moments with our two adorable cats

Headshot of Rohan Bedi

Rohil Bedi, M.D.

Medical school: Saint Louis University School of Medicine
Residency: SSM Health/SLU SOM Residency Program

I was born in India and moved around a lot growing up. I even spent some time in West Virginia before returning to India and finishing high school in New Delhi. I subsequently moved to St. Louis for my undergraduate studies and have called the city home since 2013 — the longest I have lived anywhere! In my free time I like to lift weights (or at least talk about how I need to), spend time with family or with my significant other watching mystery movies and recently I have been trying to learn more about investing and personal finance. I am also an avid, albeit slightly depressed and constantly disappointed Manchester United fan yet this does not keep me from believing next season will be our season!

Interests: Interventional and structural cardiology
Hobbies: Weightlifting, mystery movies, investing and personal finance, watching soccer

Headshot of Lolita Golemi

Lolita Golemi, M.D.

Medical school: Rush University School of Medicine
Residency: SSM Health/SLU SOM Residency Program

I am originally from Albania, and I moved to Chicago during high school, which is also when I decided I wanted to become a cardiologist. I completed medical school at Rush University in Chicago and residency at St. Louis University. I am passionate about all aspects of cardiology, but I am particularly interested in cardiac imaging and advanced heart failure.

Interests: Cardiac imaging, advanced heart failure
Hobbies: Family time, running, cooking, checking out new coffee shops around the city

Headshot of Mike Khorsandi

Michael “Mike” Khorsandi, M.D.

Medical school: Windsor University School of Medicine
Residency: George Washington University at Luminis Health AAMC

Upon completing my residency, I pursued my passion for cardiology by joining the Preventive Cardiology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. There, I played a pivotal role in leading the busy Cardiometabolic Clinic. My fellowship provided me with Level 2 training in coronary CTA imaging, a comprehensive curriculum in preventive cardiology, and extensive research exposure, particularly in the management and risk assessment of atherosclerotic vascular disease. My aspiration is to bridge preventive cardiology with interventional cardiology, carving out a unique niche that is scarcely represented among currently trained cardiologists.

Interests: Interventional cardiology
Hobbies: Football

Third-Year Fellows

Headshot of Rabya Saraf

Rabya Saraf, M.D.

Medical school: St. George's University School of Medicine
Residency: Roger Williams Medical Center/Boston University

After graduating with a degree in Biology from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, I dedicated two years to clinical and bench research in Boston. My research was mostly focused on diabetes associated cardiovascular disease, and the use of transesophageal echocardiography during cardiac surgery. I then went on to receive my medical degree from St. George's University in Grenada and completed my internal medicine residency training in Providence, Rhode Island. Fellowship brought me to the Midwest.

Interests: Non-invasive cardiology, electrophysiology
Hobbies: Being outdoors, hiking, running, trying new restaurants, cooking, reading

Headshot of Chaitanya Rojulpote

Chaitanya Rojulpote, M.D.

Medical school: Jawaharlal Nehru Medical School
Residency: The Wright Center for GME

I was born in Vizag, India, and grew up in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. After completing medical school, I pursued clinical research at the University of Pennsylvania where I conducted work in the field of nuclear cardiology, leveraging PET/CT and PET/MR to study atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and cardiac sarcoidosis. I also have a passion for disaster medicine, and in recent years, I've been able to participate in medical relief efforts to disaster stricken areas such as the war in Ukraine and the earthquake in Turkey. I also have a love for biryani. When I visited SLU for an in-person tour, I had some amazing biryani at a local restaurant that I cannot remember the name of anymore. So during my fellowship, I am going to make my way through every biryani establishment in St. Louis to find that restaurant again.

Interests: Academic cardiology, medical education, clinical research, advanced cardiac imaging, global health/disaster medicine
Hobbies: Finding the best biryani restuarant

Headshot of Sierra Dickey

Sierra Dickey, D.O.

Medical school: A.T. Still University of Health Sciences
Residency: SSM Health/SLU SOM Residency Program

I am a southern Missouri native and have really enjoyed living in St. Louis for the past three years. I had my first cardiology experience as a third-year medical student and loved it so much, I rotated through it three more times before graduating medical school! Cardiology has been my passion since shortly after I was first exposed to it, and currently I have a particular interest in interventional cardiology. On a non-academic note, having grown up on a farm in rural Missouri, I have always had a soft spot for animals. My husband and I have two small dogs (Bunsen and Burner — yes, you read that correctly!) and two cats that we adore.

Interests: Interventional cardiology
Hobbies: Reading fiction, going to the park with my dogs, finding a great coffee shop or espresso martini

Headshot of Sanskriti Shrivastava

Sanskriti Shrivastava, M.D.

Medical school: Kasturba Medical College

I was born and raised in India in Bhopal, a beautiful city with many lakes, and I went to medical school in coastal south India at Kasturba Medical College. I first moved to the U.S. as a research fellow in cardiac failure and transplant at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. I discovered an unwavering love for cardiology during my research year. I eventually spent three years in Scranton, Pennsylvania, for my internal medicine residency.

Interests: Interventional cardiology, general cardiology
Hobbies: Spending time with friends, cooking, reading, driving to new places by myself while listening to music

Interventional Cardiology Fellow

Headshot of Sibghat Tul Llah

Sibghat Tul Llah, M.B.B.S.

Medical school: Government Medical College
Residency: University of Missouri at Kansas City
Fellowship: University of Arizona School of Medicine

I was born and raised in Kashmir, India, where I completed medical school before moving to the U.S. to pursue residency and fellowship training. I'm the proud father of two wonderful girls, ages seven and three, who bring joy and balance to my life. Medicine has always been more than a profession for me — it's a calling. I'm energized by building relationships with patients and colleagues, and I genuinely enjoy being part of a collaborative medical community. My faith in God is a guiding force in both my personal and professional life.

Interests: I have a deep and longstanding interest in interventional cardiology, with a focus on coronary interventions and mechanical circulatory support devices. I'm particularly drawn to high-acuity, team-based environments where I can make immediate, life-saving impacts. Long term, I hope to work in a hybrid model that combines the efficiency of private practice with the academic satisfaction of training fellows. I enjoy teaching and mentoring, and I find fulfillment in contributing to the growth of future cardiologists.

Hobbies: Quality time with my family, above all. Most weekends revolve around my daughters, who keep me grounded and energized. I enjoy cooking and trying new recipies, and exploring new cities and cultures through travel. I'm a bit of a foodie and love discovering local eats wherever I go. I passively follow social media for inspiration, current events and occasional entertainment.
