Testing Centers at SLU
Saint Louis University students must register with the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources and get its approval for reasonable exam accommodations prior to requesting accommodated exam services at the SLU testing centers.
The testing centers are available to course instructors and students who need to coordinate equal access exam accommodations, including quiet testing space, computer use for essay exams, and a reader or writer upon request.
Services are available on the north (main) campus from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday in 105 Des Peres Hall; and on the south (medical) campus from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday in 114 Trudy Busch Valentine School of Nursing Building.
Two kinds of exams may take place in the testing centers:
- Out-of-class exams for students with approved accommodations through the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources
- Rescheduled exam requests for students who do not have accommodations but who are unable to take an exam in class at the regularly scheduled time
It is recommended that students and instructors review the Testing Center Policies and Procedures (PDF) prior to utilizing the testing centers.
Scheduling an Exam with Exam Accommodations
Students with exam accommodations will begin the process of completing the Out of Class Testing (OCT) Form via DocuSign. Students will then submit the form, which will automatically go to their instructor to complete. Once submitted by the instructor, it will automatically go to the selected testing center.

Scheduling a Missed or Make-Up Exam
Instructors can utilize the testing centers to facilitate rescheduled exams for students who do not have accommodations. These are for circumstances when the student was unable to take an exam in class at the regularly scheduled time. Rescheduled exams during midterms and finals will only be accepted for reasons related to unexpected or emergency circumstances. These will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
To submit a Rescheduled Exam Request (RER) form, the instructor and the student should agree to a date and time for the rescheduled exam. The instructor will complete and submit the RER form at least 72 hours (business days) in advance to the requested date.
