The majority of courses that are offered in our study abroad programs have an international or comparative law focus. Bar courses are not offered in this forum. All courses taken abroad will count toward the concentration in international and comparative law. In instances when select courses count towards other School of Law concentrations, the course descriptions will list that additional concentration.
Credits earned in our study abroad programs, as well as ABA-approved programs not affiliated with SLU LAW may count towards the student’s J.D. degree. However,
only grades earned through the SLU LAW Summer Program in Madrid may count toward a student’s grade point average and impact one’s class ranking.
The Summer Law Program will have a published Summer Law Program in Madrid tuition rate. As the semester abroad programs are exchange programs, no money is exchanged between the student and the international law school. Students will pay tuition to SLU LAW and their general SLU LAW scholarships will apply. Students may use financial aid for the summer and semester abroad programs.
