Office of Public School Partnerships
Saint Louis University’s School of Education is rooted in a commitment to serve the community by focusing on interdisciplinary research and innovation in teaching. Our dedication to fostering meaningful partnerships with public schools in Missouri reflects this belief. Through these partnerships, we aim to create a collaborative environment that benefits students, educators and the community at large.
In working to fulfill that commitment, the Office of Public School Partnerships seeks:
- To provide access to high-quality education for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
- To promote innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
- To serve as a resource for public schools and their communities.
The Office of Public School Partnerships is dedicated to making a positive impact on the local education landscape. We collaborate with public schools to support their goals and enhance the educational experience for students. Our commitment includes:
- Public Charter School Sponsorship: As a research institution, Saint Louis University is committed to the concept of public charter schools as laboratories of innovation to discern what can work best in public education, and how all educational sectors can benefit from such innovation.
- Teacher Preparation: We provide training and support for future educators to excel in their classrooms by getting student teachers into classrooms early and often. Our teacher preparation programs are designed to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in the lives of their students.
- Professional Development: We partner with public school educators to provide ongoing professional development opportunities to help teachers stay current with best practices in education.
- Research and Innovation: We collaborate with our school partners and the PRiME Center to conduct research that informs educational practice and policy. Through our research initiatives, we seek to address pressing educational challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Community Engagement: We actively engage with the communities surrounding our campuses. By collaborating with community organizations and schools, we aim to create a supportive network for families and students.
- Scholarships and Financial Aid: We work to make higher education more accessible through scholarships and financial aid programs. We believe that a college education should be within reach for all students.
