Mission Statement

Rounded in the Jesuit tradition of Cura Personalis–care for the whole person–and a universal CORE rooted in intellectual pursuit and passions, the Saint Louis University College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador Program seeks to embody faith, love, service, and leadership. As student leaders and stewards of the SLU experience, CAS Ambassadors are dedicated to fostering inclusivity and belonging within the local and broader community. CAS Ambassadors engage with current and prospective students, families, and alumni to share their experiences and promote academic opportunities. Ambassadors aim to support recruitment and outreach initiatives, while inspiring students to discover their purpose, embrace lifelong learning, and contribute to the common good. Through meaningful engagement in community outreach, recruitment, and service, CAS Ambassadors strive to create a legacy that would carry forward a tradition of higher purpose and greater good.

We are calling all undergraduates from the Saint Louis University College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) to apply for the inaugural year of the ambassador program.

SLU CAS Ambassadors are undergraduate students who represent the college, work with the Office of the Dean, assist with college and university events, help shape college initiatives and plan community service projects. The ambassador program highlights the vibrant student body in the College of Arts and Sciences, facilitates belonging within the college, and showcases individuals who embody the spirit of higher purpose and greater good.

This first class of CAS Ambassadors will be recognized as the founders of CAS Ambassadors and receive special recognition. Founders will lay the groundwork for the organization and assist in creating by-laws, mission statements, and overall annual objectives and programming. Founder ambassadors will begin in the Spring 2025 semester and will be expected to commit to the program for the entire 2025-2026 academic year.

Hello, friends. My name is Ittmum Zahir, and I am a traditional pre-med student pursuing a dual bachelor’s degree in neuroscience (B.S.) and Spanish (B.A.) with minors in biology and psychology. I’ve lived in St. Louis all my life and have truly enjoyed everything the metropolitan area has to offer. At Saint Louis University, I’ve been involved in University Mastersingers, Beyond Ability SLU, Global Medical Brigades, Spanish Club, Nu Rho Psi, the Pre-Health Ambassador Program, tutoring at the Student Success Center, and conducting research at the SLU School of Medicine in Dr. De Vera’s Nurr1 Drug Discovery Lab. Off campus, I enjoy giving back to the community by volunteering at KEEN St. Louis as a Coaches Committee member and at SSM Saint Louis University Hospital, where I serve as one of the lead emergency department ambassadors.
