Pre-Health Organizations

Saint Louis University offers many extracurricular activities for pre-health students to network, gain experience and find support.

Alpha Epsilon Delta

Saint Louis University's chapter of the National Premedical Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED), is the only national honor society for students preparing for careers in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, pharmacy and veterinary medicine. SLU’s chapter, Missouri Beta Chapter, is one of 32 chapters in the midwestern states.

AED offers scholarship opportunities and the chance to attend a national conference.

Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS)

The Minority Association for Pre-Health Students (MAPS) is a pre-health chapter of The Student National Medical Association (SNMA). SNMA is the nation's oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color.

The organization is open to all students who are underrepresented in professional health care fields and plan on seeking a professional degree in health care. The organization provides you with the knowledge, skills, and experience required for professional participation in the medical field.

Pre-Health Ambassador Program

The Pre-Health Student Ambassador Program connects prospective and current SLU undergraduate students to pre-health sophomore, junior, and senior mentors.

Ambassadors are available during prospective student and family on-campus visits. Ask your admission counselor if you would like to meet with a pre-health ambassador.
