Marketing and Communications Design Projects Earn National Honors

The graphic designers in Saint Louis University's Division of Marketing and Communications won six awards in a national competition sponsored by the University and College Designers Association (UCDA) for work promoting the University. The annual awards honor the best work in educational design — including print, digital and illustration — in North America.

SLU’s 2021 UCDA Design Awards include the 2021 SLU calendar, which features colorful illustrations of campus; student recruitment billboards; and artwork for the University’s virtual event to honor SLU’s May 2020 graduates, Honor the Day. Four SLU entries received excellence awards, and two received honorable mentions.

The recognized projects were by graphic designers Aimee Felter and Jamie Klopmeyer and by Matt Krob, director of design services.

“I am so proud of the work our graphic designers do to promote Saint Louis University,” said Laura Geiser, assistant vice president for brand management in the Division of Marketing and Communications. “Their creativity, aesthetic and professionalism always ensure that SLU’s graphics, publications, digital files, ads and other collateral stand out and attract attention. These awards are well deserved.”

The six honors for SLU’s graphic design team this year set a record; the group won four UCDA Awards in 2019. In February, the designers and several other Marcom staff members were honored with 15 awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VI for their work to advance the University’s mission through communications and marketing efforts.
