Community Service
At Saint Louis University School of Medicine, we are committed to advancing health care for individuals and our community.
Faculty, learners and staff of SLU School of Medicine embrace cura personalis, the ideal of care for the whole person. Our hospitals and clinics serve a diverse urban population. At SLU, principles of social determinants of health and health equity are integrated into medical education.
Casa de Salud
Saint Louis University School of Medicine students can make a real difference in the lives of immigrant communities by volunteering at Casa de Salud (Casa). Casa, a leading health care resource for St. Louis' foreign-born population, provides vital clinical and mental health services to those facing barriers to quality care.
Both SLU and Casa share a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community. Casa believes quality health care, delivered with compassion and respect, is essential for a vibrant and prosperous region. Saint Louis University's support extends beyond providing a physical location on SLU campus, with faculty serving on Casa's Board of Directors and students volunteering directly at the clinic.
SLU medical students who volunteer at Casa gain valuable first-hand experience while providing critical support. Their efforts directly improve the health and well-being of immigrants and underserved populations, contributing to a healthier and more prosperous St. Louis for everyone.
Adventures In Medicine and Science (AIMS)
