COVID-19 Campus Vaccination Clinic Feb. 15

February 10, 2023

Dear members of the SLU community,

Our next scheduled on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinic for spring semester will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Simon Recreation Center.

Now is a good time to stayup-to-date on your vaccinationsand get the vaccine while it is still free.

Brand new dataindicate that the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine provides higher protection against infection and significantly higher protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death compared to only receiving the original vaccination series (i.e., monovalent vaccine) or being unvaccinated. If you last received a COVID-19 vaccine prior to September 2022, we highly recommend that you receive the bivalent booster vaccine at this time.

On January 20, it was announced that thefederal public health COVID emergency order will end on May 11. After May 11, the federal government will no longer provide free access to COVID-19 vaccines, testing, or treatment. Local public health agencies or insurance companies may continue to provide free access to the vaccine, but no decisions have been made yet.

Free vaccines are also readily available atcommunity vaccination sitesnear you.

Thank you to the dedicated School of Nursing faculty and students who have once again staffed campus vaccination clinics throughout this academic year.

Stay safe and be well.
