Dr. Geller graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 1980. He took his residency training at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is board certified in both neurology with special qualification in child neurology and pediatrics. Early in his career, he served in the United States Navy as both a general pediatrician and pediatric neurologist where he had the opportunity to see a broad range of patients and cultures. After 13 years of active duty, Dr. Geller joined the Department of Neurology in 1993. Subsequently, he completed his Naval reserve tour of duty in 2000.
Dr. Geller's special interests include pediatric neuro-oncology and neurofibromatosis. He has conducted studies of sleep disorders in survivors of pediatric brain tumors and of epilepsy in NF-1. These publications and others in the literature pertain to child neurology. Dr. Geller has been honored with several annual teaching awards given by the neurology residents. In July, 2001, he was promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure and was appointed program director for the Child Neurology residency program.
Dr. Geller is a member of Child Neurology Society, the American Academy of Neurology, The American Epilepsy Society and the Children's Oncology Group. He is on the Board of Directors for the Missouri Pain Initiative, and on the Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of the St Louis Region. Dr Geller was recognised as one of the "Best Doctors of St Louis" in 2005 and 2006 in St Louis Magazine. He is also an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Geller sees patients at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
