Dr. Chand graduated from medical school in India in 1975 and completed residency training in Internal Medicine and Neurology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) in 1982. He has trained in the UK and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCP). He has trained further at the University of Louisville in Neurology and Movement Disorders and is board certified in Neurology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCP) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN).
Dr. Chand has worked as a Neurologist in India, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Oman and has held faculty positions as Associate Professor of Neurology, Head of Internal Medicine and Professor of Neurology. He has been actively involved in medical education and integrated problem oriented curricula. He has considerable experience in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. He has presented his research work in international conferences, has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and written several book chapters. He has been an invited speaker in different countries and has organized and chaired conferences.
He joined the faculty at St Louis University in 2008 as Professor and Director of the Movement disorders programme. His main interest is in Movement Disorders, Deep Brain Stimulation programming and Botulinum toxin therapy.
